{"id":3173,"date":"2024-01-30T04:02:05","date_gmt":"2024-01-30T04:02:05","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.sfrautox.com\/?page_id=3173"},"modified":"2024-02-27T18:13:18","modified_gmt":"2024-02-27T18:13:18","slug":"general-information","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.sfrautox.com\/?page_id=3173","title":{"rendered":"General Information"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3 style=\"text-align: center;\">New to Autocross: <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><a style=\"color: #ff0000;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.sfrautox.com\/?page_id=3123\">Start Here<\/a><\/span><\/h3>\n<h2><\/h2>\n<hr \/>\n<h2>Event Info<\/h2>\n<h3>Typical Daily Schedule:<\/h3>\n<p><strong>8:00 &#8211; 8:15 AM<\/strong>: Same day registration\/check-in, and course opens for walking. <em>*Note* For non-novice drivers who\u00a0pre-regged online you do NOT need to check in, you have already been checked in, and your work assignment has already been assigned.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>~8:20 AM<\/strong>: Novice course walk begins at the starting line.<\/p>\n<p><strong>8:40 AM<\/strong>: Course closes for walking.<\/p>\n<p><strong>8:50 AM<\/strong>: Drivers meeting at the trailer.<\/p>\n<p><strong>9:00 AM<\/strong>: First car out. We usually have 3-4 run groups, and each participant gets 5 runs in their designated group.<\/p>\n<p><strong>After Competitive Runs (Roughly 1 to 3 PM)<\/strong>: There will be a 30-60 minute fun run session, where you can get an additional 5-8 runs. If you are chasing that final tenth, or just want a ton of seat time, stick around after your competition run group!<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h3>What To Bring:<\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If it\u2019s your first event, make sure you bring the following:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Helmet (limited loaners available)<\/span>\n<ul>\n<li aria-level=\"1\">A SNELL helmet certified within the last 10 years (In 2021, SA2020 or SA2015 are valid, while SA2010 or older are not). A full list of supported safety classifications can be found <a href=\"https:\/\/sfrautox.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022_Helmet-Certs.pdf\">here<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Car Numbers (or painters tape in a contrasting color to your car)<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Water, Snacks, Lunch (Closest food is a 10 min drive).<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Hat and Sunscreen<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: revert;\">Wear layers, as weather can change throughout the day.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Helpful items you\u2019ll see many people have, but aren\u2019t required:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Air Pressure Gauge &#8211; To adjust tire pressure between runs<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Tire Pump &#8211; To refill tires at the end of the day, or before runs<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Bin to put everything from your car in &#8211; you need the car empty, so all the loose tools\/water bottles\/jackets have a bin to get stored in<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Water Sprayer &#8211; To keep tires cool between runs on hot days, if you&#8217;re on stock tires this isn&#8217;t really necessary<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Bike\/Scooter &#8211; Crows is a big site, really helpful to get around<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Second set of tires + Jack\/stands &#8211; If you are changing wheels\/tires at the event<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr \/>\n<h3>How Do I Sign Up?<\/h3>\n<p>Pre-registration is handled via <a href=\"https:\/\/www.motorsportreg.com\/\">MotorSportReg<\/a>. Typically events open for pre-reg 2 weeks prior to the event date, and remain open until the Tuesday before the event (though always check the MSR sign up window so you don&#8217;t miss out!).<\/p>\n<p>On site registration is also available at an increased cost the day of the event. Save yourself some cash and pre-reg!<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h2>Safety<\/h2>\n<h3>Basic Car Safety<\/h3>\n<p>Please see our guide to basic safety requirements <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sfrautox.com\/?page_id=80\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h3>Waivers<\/h3>\n<p>Every person on site 12 years of age or older must sign a waiver whether driving or not.<\/p>\n<p>Waivers for the event are done through Speed Waiver. If you register through MotorSportReg you should get a link to sign your waiver on your phone. Paper waivers are also available at the entrance to the site.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h3>Minors<\/h3>\n<p>Minors include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Anyone 16-17 year old &#8211; minor drivers holding a valid driver\u2019s permit or license<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Anyone 16-17 years old &#8211; minors entering \u201chot\u201d areas (staging, grid, start, finish, course)<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Anyone 12-17 years old or 57\u201d tall &#8211; minor passengers<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Note<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">: Children under 12 years old are allowed at the event, however are not permitted in \u201chot\u201d areas (staging, grid, start, finish, course) so a waiver is not necessary for them.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>The National rules passed down to the Region have changed a bit for 2017 regarding minor waivers. All minors that drive or ride as a passenger or even stand on grid, must have a minor waiver signed by both parents. The signatures of both parents must be notarized or, effective in 2017, both signatures can be witnessed by either the Regional Chief of Waivers or the Solo Chairperson at an event. Both parents must be present for this option. The minor is required to sign the \u201cAssumption of Risk\u201d form as well. You will then need to send the notarized or Officially witnessed form, along with the Minor \u201cAssumption of Risk\u201d form into the National office. They will send you a hard waiver card that will need to be presented at every event. This card must be renewed every year. There is a provision on the form for single parents\/legal guardians or parents\/legal guardians that have sole custody.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Without the hard card or waiver forms signed as described above, the minor will not be allowed to compete, be a passenger or be present on grid.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Per National rules, <strong>waiver forms signed by one parent at an event will be accepted for non-participating minors that will be in spectator areas only<\/strong>. That waiver form is good for that event only.<\/p>\n<p>You can find the national minor waiver form <a href=\"https:\/\/www.scca.com\/downloads\/14424-scca-minor-scca-official-1068-09-15\/download\">here<\/a><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h2>Classing<\/h2>\n<h3>Region Classes<\/h3>\n<p>SFR runs many regional or indexed classes.
